Local swell, wind, and tide notes for Wellfleet

Newcomb Hollow is a quieter dune-backed Wellfleet beachbreak - a local favorite when you want Outer Cape swell without the Cahoon crowds.

Best swell
East swell with decent period produces fun peaks along the bar. Short-period wind swell is rideable but scrappy.
Best wind
West offshore wind is the cleanest setup. Summer sea breezes from the south can bump conditions by midday.
Tide tip
Mid tide typically offers the best combination of shape and paddle safety.
Skill level
Intermediate on average; beginners on very small, uncrowded days with lifeguards present.
